The full Harvest Moon reached its brightest point just before dawn on September 29th, 2023. It was the final supermoon in 2023 and was a special cosmic event because it was joined by Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury. During a supermoon, the moon moves to its closest point to Earth and baths our planet in its radiant glow.
The gravitational force of the moon, which is more pronounced during a supermoon, affects the water in our bodies much like it does the tides, leading to heightened states of emotion and intuition. I was reminded by a friend that it was a good night for astral travel because the energy of a supermoon had a strong effect on our subtle bodies. Another friend said she would be on the dark side of the moon and these conversations planted the seeds of curiosity in me; I wanted to witness this celestial event up close.
I prepared in my usual way throughout the day by eating light and repeating an affirmation: “I will have a conscious out-of-body experience under the light of the supermoon. I will remember every detail.” With each repetition, the words took root in my subconscious mind, reinforcing my intent and determination.
I sat outside as the supermoon rose into the night sky and cast a vivid glow onto my patio. I felt a sense of serenity and readiness as my mind focused on the moon’s radiant energy while I repeated my affirmation a few times before heading in for the night.
My journey to the moon began in my dimly lit bedroom, the scent of eucalyptus permeating the air. This scent always had a relaxing effect on me. The supermoon bathed my room in a silvery radiance from the open window as I lay down, closed my eyes, and focused on my breath. With each inhalation and exhalation, I felt a growing sense of detachment from my physical body. Soon I felt a subtle shift in my consciousness. I felt my body softly vibrating then a rush of energy and I was out.
I found myself standing outside my body, looking down at my own physical form. The sensation of seeing myself relaxed and sleeping was always surreal and I had to be careful not to focus on my physical body too much or I would be called back inside.
The room around me dissolved into a sea of swirling colors, and I began to ascend, transcending the boundaries of space and time. I floated effortlessly through the walls of my bedroom and into the night. The world outside had transformed into a dreamscape, bathed in the ethereal light of the supermoon. The landscape was familiar, yet everything had an otherworldly quality to it.
I soared through the night sky, drawn inexorably toward the mesmerizing brilliance of the supermoon. The closer I got, the more intense the lunar energy became, moving me effortlessly through the cosmos.
As I reached the supermoon, I beheld a breathtaking sight. Beings from Earth and other realms had gathered here, drawn by the irresistible pull from the supermoon. Many of these beings were present in an unconscious astral state, their physical bodies soundly asleep, engaged in an involuntary astral projection. Their inner light cast a faint glow amid this astral assembly, yet they were here to bear witness to the spectacle. In contrast, individuals like myself were fully awake, our consciousness radiating brightly in the moon’s luminous embrace.
The beings surrounding me emitted a brilliant light, exuding an aura of profound wisdom and tranquility. I floated among them, marveling at the diversity of beings that had come to witness this celestial spectacle.
I whispered words of encouragement in my mind to beings from Earth who were still asleep in the physical world, urging them to remember the beauty of this astral gathering when they woke up. Some stirred, as if they sensed my presence on a subconscious level, while others remained undisturbed.
I turned toward the moon’s luminescent light and before me stood a wise celestial traveler. His presence filled me with a profound sense of peace and understanding. I recognized him. He projected visions into my mind of our journeys through the astral realm, exploring distant galaxies and witnessing the birth of stars together. He was my guide. Without uttering a single word, he imparted a message, assuring me that I need not remember it in full. The entirety of the message would reveal itself to me at the appropriate time, and I was entrusted to share it.
With a gentle descent, my guide took me back to my physical body.
As I transcribed this experience into words the next day, the message from my guide flooded my memory. Here is the message I received under the luminance of the supermoon:
“The universe is a vast tapestry of consciousness, and you are an integral thread within it. Just as the light of the supermoon touches every corner of the Earth, so too does the light of awareness connect all beings across time and space. In this grand symphony of existence, you have a unique and vital role to play.
Remember that your thoughts, emotions, and actions ripple through the cosmos, influencing the fabric of reality itself. Your consciousness is a powerful tool, capable of shaping your own destiny and contributing to the greater harmony of the universe.
Embrace your role as a conscious co-creator in this cosmic dance. Nurture love, compassion, and understanding within your heart, for these are the forces that bind us all. Seek not only to explore the outer reaches of the cosmos but also the inner realms of your own soul, for therein lies the key to unlocking your true potential.
As you journey through life, know that you are never truly alone. The stars themselves are your companions, and the wisdom of the ages is written in the constellations above. Trust in the guidance of your inner light, for it is a reflection of the same light that shines in the heart of every being in the universe.
