Defenders Of The Light – The Battle Begins, is a story about a character with many of the author’s personal traits and psychic challenges, along with some of the tragedies of his early years. While the story veers into a fictional depiction of a spiritual warrior doing battle with evildoers, here and on the other side of the veil, it is true to the author’s spirit of adventure and his commitment to informing and helping others.

Defenders of the Light is the story of a psychic child who grows up in a world that disowns his gifts, but who learns to use them and defend humanity against those with dark egos who lust for power and wealth, here and beyond the veil.

About the Author
Keith Gunnell is a retired air traffic controller. The story that he tells herein is loosely based on his paranormal experiences that included visions and out-of-body astral projections as a child that persisted into his adult life. This inner life brought him into conflict with his Christian family and an uncle who was a minister who warned him of becoming “the property of the devil.” As a teen he learned to fly, which alleviated some of his suffering and where he found his lifelong spirit guide, a former pilot. He had an accident—striking and pulling along a power line with his landing gear—on one of his test flights, which an FAA investigator claimed no one else had ever survived. Gunnell wrote an article about this accident and his guide’s intervention in a flyer’s magazine, which was published in 2013 under the title, A Date with My Girl. As an Air Force air traffic controller, he decided to close off this aspect of himself to concentrate on his career and his high-stress job. However, years later he began to have similar experiences and sought help to manage his astral projections. He became affiliated with The Monroe Institute in Virginia and completed all their core courses on Human Consciousness and Out-of-Body Experience (OBE). Today these experiences are a regular part of his life.
