While our physical body rests during sleep, there is an aspect of ourselves that continues to operate beyond the limitations of the material world. This energy body is a field of consciousness that exists outside of the physical body. It exists as an energetic extension of our oversoul as our higher-self. It moves freely in realms where time and space dissolve in the astral planes.
When we fall asleep, our physical body enters a state of much-needed rejuvenation, but our higher-self doesn’t simply shut down or “wait” for the physical body to wake up. It embarks on its own journey, experiencing its own unique adventures. The higher-self is always active, engaging in activities that expand our consciousness, teach us lessons, and explore new dimensions of reality. It serves as the avatar that drives our physical body, and as it navigates the astral planes, the memories of these explorations are stored in our subconscious. The subconscious, while part of us, is also the mind of the higher-self. Since these astral projection memories are not stored in the physical brain but instead they are stored in the subconscious, they can be harder to recall. This is why we don’t remember these adventures unless we make an effort to remember.
The higher-self is free from the constraints of gravity, distance, and time. It can instantly traverse vast stretches of the universe and explore different planes of existence. Unlike the physical form, it has no need for rest and doesn’t simply idle while the body sleeps. Instead, it remains active, continuing to experience and explore, all while maintaining its connection to the resting body.
The multi-layered dimensions of the astral planes is where the higher-self roams while our physical body sleeps. The higher-self is free to explore different realms of consciousness, meet with spirit guides, converse with higher beings, and even travel to other dimensions or distant points in the universe.
These astral adventures are not whimsical fantasies; they serve a deep spiritual purpose. The higher-self gathers knowledge, explores potential futures, or revisits past lives. While our conscious mind may not always recall these journeys upon waking, the experiences of the higher-self subtly integrate into our waking consciousness, influencing our thoughts, insights, and intuition and help us make sense of our earthly existence.
We are never truly “off.” Even when our conscious mind rests, the higher-self is always in motion—exploring, learning, and growing. This ongoing connection with the astral world is a reminder that we are not limited to our physical bodies. We are, at our core, beings of light and energy, continuously connected to a higher source.
In those quiet hours of sleep, while the world outside grows still, our higher-self embarks on journeys of great adventure and discovery. It transcends the boundaries of time and space, exploring the vast expanses of the astral realm, where it is free to experience the universe. Upon awakening, even if we don’t consciously remember these astral experiences, they leave subtle imprints on our soul, guiding us in ways that enrich our spiritual and earthly lives.
We are so much more than just our physical bodies—we are infinite beings, always growing, always learning, and always connected to a higher truth that transcends the material world.
