More On: The Ancient Plan
On this ‘journey to knowing’ that we have been following together, placing the puzzle pieces to make out the bigger picture, the notion/myth/fable of some ancient plan for mankind pops up from time to time, hinting at a much wider perspective than our daily focus on projects and practices of a psychic and spiritual nature. It has certainly crossed my path at various intervals through the decades and each time I feel I understand a little more. In the mid-seventies I came across many tantalizing hints and details in the esoteric writings of Cyril Scott, Charles Leadbeater and A.P. Sinnett. Even then the existence and function of the ascended masters, aka the White Brotherhood, seemed beyond dispute, but they became, of necessity, the background for my personal efforts in the fields of spirit communication, past life studies and consciousness projection, not to mention acquiring an understanding of the lives and purposes of elementals and extraterrestrials. A very full dance card if you don’t mind me saying so.
Decades later, after immersing myself in the magic and mystery of the crop circle phenomenon until I felt myself inside the mystery rather than outside looking in, the arrival of the internet made broadcasting my spirit contacts all the more easy, and I found that the average ‘dead’ person, whether private citizen or celebrity, to be primarily concerned with the very personal nature of their communications. They were sad, happy, perplexed, thrilled, remorseful, relieved, combative, jokey, skeptical or withholding judgement.
They would speak of their transitions, unaware that they fell into one of half a dozen categories, the templates of which I grew to recognize as my practice expanded. Certainly they all had their issues which needed to be addressed. They regretted their actions, bemoaned their ignorance, chided my seeming interference, teased my attitude and purpose and questioned my veracity and sincerity. I learned to play along.
During that learning curve I also reached out to contact the ascended, as in ascended masters. I discovered, personally, as opposed to reading reports, that having completed their incarnational educations, they have no further need for human desires, ambitions or fears. They exist as guides and advisers, teaching humanity as a whole rather than individuals. Their concerns are planetary, cosmic, galactic. They seek the maximization of all human potential in all fields of endeavour. They aim at perfected man, perfected societies, peaceful and loving cooperation between all tribes and ethnicities, and not only the absolute brotherhood of all men but of all sentient beings. They measure progress, our evolution in spirit and form, in centuries rather than years. And knowing the essential illusion of time and space, they appear to be in no hurry.
Yes, there was a plan, an ancient plan, for evolving consciousness through all species including humanity. Many of us, if I am to believe all the reports I hear and read, are gifted with glimpses and snippets that seem like rewards for our patience and efforts. Certainly there have been occasions when I have believed myself possessed by a snapshot of the whole thing, some of then acquired so easily they seem undeserved. What do they look like? Well, divine beings of light, perpetually in bliss, diverting themselves with limitation and striving; beings to whom planets and galaxies are mere playgrounds; beings who juggle dimensions rather than strive to understand them; beings to whom ascension is a return not an achievement; beings to whom ‘dead’ and ‘alive’ are meaningless; beings in whom ‘beingness’ can easily be dispensed with.
These, of course, seem more like aspects of the end result than aspects of the unfolding. Intermediary stages might be more along the lines of confident telepathy between friends, spontaneous observable bilocation, commonplace perceptions of human spirits and elementals, the ability to manifest foodstuffs, these and other astral plane realities as the base vibration of this plane increases.

There are many teachings on the ancient plan included in the channeled books of Alice Bailey, as she transcribes the words of the master who likes to be known as ‘the Tibetan’ and considers himself to be on the same path as the rest of us, only a little farther along. In fact the book A Treatise On White Magic (1934) contains so much I shall only tempt you with some details that should serve as tantalizing tidbits for those who may crave more.
(1). “After noting and watching this trend of affairs (the conditions of ‘concrete orthodoxy’ and ‘political differences’, the sectarianism of either Protestantism or Buddhism and competing schools of philosophy) for another hundred years, the Elder Brothers of the race called a conclave of all departments about the year AD 1500. The object was to determine how the urge to integration….could be hastened and what steps could be taken to produce that synthesis and unification of world thought, which would make possible the manifestation of the purpose of the Divine Life which has brought all into being. When the world of thought is unified, then the outer world will fall into a synthetic order” (Note that 600 year span for that is the long view)
(2). And from the same text: “The Plan. You might ask here, and rightly so, What is the Plan? It is the production of a subjective synthesis in humanity, and of a telepathic interplay which will eventually annihilate time. It will make available to every man all past achievements and knowledges, it will reveal to man the true significance of his mind and brain, and will make him the master of all that equipment, and will make him therefore omnipresent and eventually open the door to omniscience”.
