Discussions of God
Most discussions of “god” are partial, focusing on one aspect of the divinity to the exclusion of all others. Usually that aspect is the anthropomorphic one, God a person, a very wise and all knowing person, who seems to have set the universe in motion a while back and through some combination of magic and very clever science, keeps it going.
The Electric Human
Streetlights go out when I walk under them. I get a shock when I open my car door and can see sparks of energy when I rub my hand across fabrics. Interference with electronics happens when I am excited, charged and loaded with a lot of emotional energy. Other people that share this ability report that high emotion plays a key role in their experiences too. When they are upset, angry or simply very excited, the phenomena really kicks in.
Seeing the Balance
While on the journey, the inner one always unfolding, the situation, of you or the world, can seem out of whack, weighted in favor of the winners, monstrously unfair. The minuses outweighing the pluses in your own account, your faults competing with your wounds for dominance, and the chances for lasting insight, never mind enlightenment, farther than any horizon.
Moving Beyond the Spiritual Crisis
Over the course of my spiritual journey, I have known many friends who have come and gone. The ones who are left behind are the ones that hit that line in the sand, the thing they wouldn’t do to continue with their journey. We will all eventually face this crossroad.
