Spiritual Warrior – one who combats the universal enemy: self-ignorance.
The path of the spiritual warrior is not an easy one. Martial artist Bruce Lee said, “Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”
In Sanskrit, self-ignorance is called Avidya. A spiritual warrior seeks to learn the truth thus shedding light on ignorance and becoming free of Avidya through greater levels of self-awareness. This is not such an easy task because it causes a lot of cognitive dissonance by making the warrior question his/her own belief systems. However, a warrior feels set free by learning the truth.
It’s easy to know if you’re a Spiritual Warrior and truthfully if you’re reading this post, it’s likely that you are indeed, A Spiritual Warrior.
So, what are the traits that make one a Spiritual Warrior?
1) The truth will set the spiritual warrior free
A warrior seeks the truth even when it means he has to question his own beliefs. Only the truth will remove darkness and ignorance and literally set the warrior free. The truth is essential for soul growth.
2) A warrior is on a continuous path of self-discovery and self-awareness
A spiritual warrior is on a continuous quest to expand his awareness. He knows that awareness is the main tool that he has to fight against darkness and ignorance. Awareness is the ability to look into the nature of things with absolute clarity and without bias or limited belief systems.
3) Warriors are passionate and persistent
Another key attribute of a spiritual warrior is relentlessness and persistence in seeking the truth.
4) Warriors have strong intuition
Warriors have natural psychic abilities and/or a strong intuition. When someone is hiding bad intentions for example, a warrior’s antenna is on full alert. A warrior should never dismiss his or her intuition.
5) Warriors confront their own dark sides
A spiritual warrior has the courage to confront and integrate his shadow side to be able to love and accept himself unconditionally. Loving yourself means to understand yourself completely and to not be afraid to look at the dark sides of your own beliefs, then learn the truth. This allows light into your self-awareness.
6) Warriors are always concerned with their holistic health and well being
A warrior must learn to treat himself with love and respect and to prioritize his holistic health and well being over petty things that drain his energy.
7) Warriors know that our true path is to learn love
A spiritual warrior knows that the core of everything is love. A spiritual warrior knows that real and lasting peace and happiness can come only after one realizes one’s true nature and therefore chooses a soulful mission which gives him an opportunity to learn and grow.
