The Consciousness Collective

Consciousness is the essence of our awareness, the core of our experiences, and the lens through which we perceive the world. But what exactly is consciousness? How do people define and experience it? Does it extend beyond the brain, touching on spiritual or even cosmic dimensions?

We want to hear your opinion or experience with consciousness. When a large group of people gather to discuss and write about something spiritual, like consciousness, it can be referred to as group consciousness, or mass spiritual gathering. These events are consciousness-raising and raise our awareness.

The collective energy gathered here is amplified by the shared focus and intention of all the writers and visitors to the website. In spiritual terms, this can create a sense of heightened vibrational frequency, unity consciousness, or even a resonant field. This collective energy can lead to profound shifts in awareness, healing, and a deeper connection to the collective consciousness of humanity.

Reality Unmasked

Consciousness can be seen as, “all that we are conscious of”. Through our thoughts, sense perceptions, emotions and intuitions. Of course, each individual, depending on their level of openness and acceptance, is conscious a greater or lesser amount.

What is consciousness? It is all there is. We enter into this reality as a spark of light; a spark of consciousness, as we slither through the birth canal into our growing skin-bag.

I think consciousness is being aware of one’s existence. Since I’m able to think about it, it seems I have consciousness too 🙂 yeay!! Probably everything that exists has it’s consciousness, every atom, or molecule, even subatomic particles.

One thing I’ve learned while working with consciousness is to never take things too literally. Abstract concepts seem to be the basis of all data/information which is then channeled through a stream of conscious awareness, the physical being’s brain for example, and interpreted into more narrow, literal seeming concepts which fit into the thinker’s paradigms.

Consciousness is a state of being aware of and able to think about one’s own existence, thoughts, surroundings, and experiences. It’s a fundamental feature of the universe. We are consciousness.

From The Messengers:
Consciousness is awareness. It is an understanding that life is more than physical matter reality—something that most humans do not understand.

Humans can use consciousness to achieve peace in troubled times.

Consciousness is impossible to define in my view as the only word I can think of to describe it is awareness, and they are not the same thing.

Consciousness is the self that runs the body. It's multidimensional.

The highest form of consciousness is awareness of your connection to God (Deveikut). The perfect state of consciousness is one where every thought and action is aligned with divine will.

Sorry, I just saw this, Sue. My opinion is that it lives outside of our body.

If I have consciousness running my body then does consciousness live inside me? Thanks, Mac

I am

This answer is for Sue. My opinion is that even if your physical brain is unconscious you are still alive so therefore you still have consciousness. Right?

It's already been said so I don't have much to add except to ask a question - if I'm unconscious do I still have consciousness?

Simply put, it animates the physical body. It sounds like you had an astral projection, Bob.

Consciousness is a strange thing. I was in bed one night, almost asleep when I felt like my mind wasn't in my body anymore. It was like I was floating in a huge empty space, and time felt weird. For a few seconds, it was as if I wasn’t really tied to my body. It was kind of scary but also exciting, like I was touching something deeper. I think my consciousness separated from my body.

Consciousness is your awareness of yourself and the world around you. This awareness is unique to you. We each have our own awareness.
Albert Einstein Quote on Consciousness wrote on August 25, 2024 at 12:00 pm
A human being is a part of the whole, called by us "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you see the real you, or what you have been conditioned to believe is you? The two are so, so different. One is an infinite consciousness capable of being and creating whatever it chooses, the other is an illusion imprisoned by its own perceived and programmed limitations.

“Consciousness" is the function of the human mind that receives and processes information, crystallizes it and then stores it or rejects it with the help of the following: 1. The five senses 2. The reasoning ability of the mind 3. Imagination and emotion 4. Memory The five senses enable the mind to receive information, then imagination and emotion process it, reason judges it, and memory stores or rejects it.

Consciousness is like being aware of everything around you. It's when you know you're thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world, like when you're playing, talking, or just being yourself. It's what makes you know you are "you."

I waken this morning. Eyes open. Theater curtains spread. No applause. Familiar perception streams. Awareness, light and dark. Textures. Sheets rustle, bare skin. Coffee aroma. Cold floor, bare feet. Consciousness teases, coalesces into thought?

It runs the body. Without it we be dead.

Consciousness is the shimmering interface between the self and the universe, a dynamic dance of awareness that weaves thoughts, emotions, and perceptions into the fabric of reality. It’s the silent observer that witnesses the flow of time, the creator of meaning in a sea of chaos, and the spark of life that animates existence. Consciousness is both the mirror and the light, reflecting the external world while illuminating the inner landscape, endlessly curious, and forever seeking to understand its place within the infinite.
Vickie Acklin wrote on August 20, 2024 at 7:24 am
Consciousness is like waking up inside a dream and realizing you’re both the dreamer and the dream. It’s the moment you catch yourself thinking, where you become the observer of your own thoughts. You feel the layers of reality unfold, as though there’s a vast, intricate web connecting everything—your mind, the world, the universe. In this state, the line between the inner and outer world blurs, and you become acutely aware of the dance between your thoughts and the environment around you. Time seems to stretch, and you realize that your awareness is the thread weaving together the fabric of existence.

Consciousness is like the part of you that's aware of everything happening around you and inside you. It's what makes you feel like you—the thoughts in your head, the emotions you experience, and the way you notice the world through your senses. Think of it like this: Imagine you're playing a video game. The character on the screen is doing stuff, but you're the one controlling it, making decisions, and reacting to what's happening in the game. Consciousness is kind of like the "player" behind the character in the game of life. It’s what lets you experience everything, make choices, and be aware of your own existence. It’s the part of your mind that knows it exists and that’s aware of everything you think, feel, and sense.

Consciousness is being aware of and able to think about your own existence. It's about having experiences and then having the ability to think about your experiences. It's what makes us human.
